Each year I have the bright idea to undergo a number of projects, both tech and non-tech focused.
This year, I actually want to follow through with this and try to make some of these ideas a reality.
The current list of things I want to do are:
- Portfolio website – this website here. I have had this in mind for years and want to do regular posts with updates on projects, new ideas etc.
- Web app – I want to build a Web app, I have a few ideas for this but will reveal more later.
- Media, NAS and administration server – I want to build a plex server, but I also have a number of smart devices in my house. I would like a server with home automation software to better manage the devices.
- Home network – over the last couple of years I have been starting to install a more sophisticated network in my house. I want to continue this and start to make it more robust. This includes increasing the coverage of my mesh network and harmonising the settings of my ISP and internal router. I also want to install a switch so that I can start retrofitting the house with networking over time and also have my new server and cctv system.
- Home Gym – I have a single garage that isn’t used for a car. I have already got a turbo trainer for my bike, a treadmill and a pull up bar.
I will give each of these a separate post over time as I get more into it.
