{"id":10,"date":"2026-01-11T21:52:46","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T21:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/DREAMINGOFTECH.UK\/?p=10"},"modified":"2026-01-11T21:52:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T21:52:46","slug":"new-year-new-focus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/DREAMINGOFTECH.UK\/?p=10","title":{"rendered":"New Year, New Focus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Each year I have the bright idea to undergo a number of projects, both tech and non-tech focused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, I actually want to follow through with this and try to make some of these ideas a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current list of things I want to do are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Portfolio website &#8211; this website here. I have had this in mind for years and want to do regular posts with updates on projects, new ideas etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Web app &#8211; I want to build a Web app, I have a few ideas for this but will reveal more later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Media, NAS and administration server &#8211; I want to build a plex server, but I also have a number of smart devices in my house. I would like a server with home automation software to better manage the devices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home network &#8211; over the last couple of years I have been starting to install a more sophisticated network in my house. I want to continue this and start to make it more robust. This includes increasing the coverage of my mesh network and harmonising the settings of my ISP and internal router. I also want to install a switch so that I can start retrofitting the house with networking over time and also have my new server and cctv system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home Gym &#8211; I have a single garage that isn&#8217;t used for a car. I have already got a turbo trainer for my bike, a treadmill and a pull up bar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I will give each of these a separate post over time as I get more into it.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each year I have the bright idea to undergo a number of projects, both tech and non-tech focused.
